X-Rays and Cone Beam CT

If your dentist or doctor has taken x-rays, they will usually have sent us copies. If you haven’t had any x-rays taken then we will take them at the time of consultation. If additional films are necessary, they can be taken at our facility.

Usually the X-rays your dentist has taken indicate that your problem is a complex one and hence your referral to me. For this reason I may take a different type of X-ray called a Cone Beam CT. This is a high resolution 3D CT scan of your facial bones and gives the imaging needed for deciding on the best treatment. The main advantage of a Cone Beam CT scan is that the radiation dose is very small compared to medical CT scans.
